DESCRIPTION:We are delighted to welcome Greg Douglass\, one of the Steve Miller Band’s stalwarts! \n \nInducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 2016\, his pedigree extends outside of the Steve Miller Band although he was part of its most prolific life in 1974-78.  He then went on to be a member of Van Morrison‘s band\, Tom Fogerty‘s band\, Hot Tuna\, The Greg Kihn Band\, and many more.\nAt WemsFest\, Greg will be accompanied by Steve Browning (bass)\, and Rob Beckinsale (keyboards/vocals). \n \nGreg’s 60 years in the music business reads like a Who’s Who of classic rock: \n\n COUNTRY WEATHER- 1967-1972-Heavy psychedelic music\, played the Fillmore and Avalon in San Francisco\, playing with Jeff Beck & Santana \nVAN MORRISON-1974-75 Toured with the legendary singer songwriter. The band later became Huey Lewis & the News\nHOT TUNA-1975-76 Toured with spin-off group from Jefferson Airplane. Featured Jorma Kaukonen on guitar & Jack Cassady on bass\nTERRY & THE PIRATES-1975-1984  Recorded & toured with legendary band that featured scores of members. Terry Dolan was the eponymous leader; Quicksilver Messenger Service guitarist  John Cipollina and I traded leads.\nTHE STEVE MILLER BAND-1977-1980 Recorded and toured with Steve. Co-wrote the hit “Jungle Love” with bassist Lonnie Turner. Co-wrote four other tunes on the “Abracadabra” and “Living in the 20th Century” LPs. Received three  platinum albums for 15 million+ in total sales\nPETER ROWAN-1980-1982  Toured the US & Europe with this bluegrass great.\nTOM JOHNSTON BAND-1980-1983- Solo band of the Doobie Brothers singer\, guitarist and author of “Listen to the Music” & “China Grove”. Recorded and toured.\nEDDIE MONEY- 1980- Greg co-wrote and played guitar on “Trinidad” from Eddie’s “Playing for Keeps” album.\nTHE GREG KIHN BAND-1982-1985- Recorded and toured extensively. #1 hit with “Jeopardy” featured a killer solo by Greg.  Appeared on American Bandstand\, PBS Soundstage\, and Saturday Night Live & were an early MTV staple\nTOM FOGERTY- 1981- Recorded and toured with the co-founder of Creedence Clearwater Revival\n PAUL BUTTERFIELD- 1983-1987 Toured with the great blues harmonica player in the San Francisco area\nFABULOUS PELICANS- 1997-2015- Toured extensively with this high profile corporate show band. Worked in the U.S.\, Canada\, Tahiti\, Hawaii\, and Thailand\nTHE MONSTERS OF CLASSIC ROCK- 2003-2007  Toured with this all-star band with members of AC/DC\, Huey Lewis & the News\, Vanilla Fudge\, Rod Stewart\, Jeff Beck Group\, and David Bowie.  Played large concerts and corporate events\nTHE ELECTRIC FLAG-2009-2014- Toured with this all-star band\, founded by guitar great Michael Bloomfield. It featured Nick Gravenites and Barry Goldberg\nBIG BROTHER AND THE HOLDING COMPANY-2005-2014-  Toured with this seminal San Francisco band.
