Blood Harmony

From a remote valley in northern Iceland this family trio have perfected ‘blood harmony’ singing and are over here for a number of prestigious dates and festivals.

Folk with an Icelandic twist !

Hailing from North Iceland, Blood Harmony started as a collaboration project of brother and sister Örn Eldjárn and Ösp Eldjárn. Having been brought up in a musical family, it was no wonder that both of their paths led into a musical career. Now, after more than a decade in various musical projects and bands, they have joined forces again, like they did when they were teenagers, and returned to their folky roots. To perfect the “Blood Harmony”, which happens when close family members sing together, Örn and Ösp Eldjárn are joined by their younger sister, Björk Eldjárn. The project officially started in the spring of 2020 when, due to covid19, the trio had all moved back to Svarfaðardalur valley in North Iceland, where they are from. They transformed the basement at their parent’s farm into a recording studio and started recording songs they had written a while ago but for some reason not found the right platform for, until now. So far they have released four singles, Summer Leaves, Wicked Heart and Draumsnillingar (dream masters) and Girl From Before, and are currently working on a LP album.  They also started a live streaming session called “The Valley Sessions” where they performed their new music and connected  to a new audience. The following summer they toured around Iceland and in April 2022 they were chosen to perform at Nordic Folk Alliance in Gothenburg.  In January 2023 they made their Celtic Connections debut in Glasgow.
